industry since 1978, Seabee utilizes the latest technology,
materials, manufacturing processes, computer-aided design, quality
inspection and engineering techniques. Seabee is a specialist
in the design and manufacture of custom hydraulic cylinders,
and offers a full capacity cast steel foundry pouring 2 - 2,000
pound castings, as well as a state-of-the-art chrome plating
facility.
| Seabee serves the largest equipment manufacturers in the world
by offering 2" - 27" bore hydraulic cylinders, pressure
ratings up to 10,000 PSI, and strokes to 35' on single-stage
applications. All hydraulic cylinders are designed to meet
the customer's specific application and 100% tested before
shipping. Seabee offers custom-engineered hydraulic cylinder
solutions for construction, forestry, agricultural equipment,
material handling, defense, instrumentation, truck cranes,
aerial work platforms and other diverse applications. Seabee
Chrome offers grinding, induction hardening, chrome plating
and other custom finishing processes. With one of the largest
inventories of processed specialty steel found anywhere in the
United States, Seabee stocks a wide variety of chrome-plated
tubing and bars, ground tubing and bars, and honed tubing as
well as raw material in many sizes.
The
Seabee Foundry offers a complete in-house pattern shop, twelve
1-ton electric induction furnaces, and metallurgical services. Seabee
castings can eliminate the worry of troublesome weldments,
reduce the need for expensive machining, as well as reproduce
intricate designs quickly and efficiently. The Seabee Foundry
also offers heat-treating and some machining capabilities.

PRIMARY
PRODUCTS: Custom designed hydraulic cylinders for various applications
from Agricultural to Waste Management. Specializes in cylinders
over 120" stroke with bore sizes up to 24".
MANUFACTURING
PHILOSOPHY: The cylinder facility is designed and operated to
maximize the use of part/product families, cells and flow manufacturing.
Three product lines are dedicated to manufacturing tube and rod
weldments for long-stroke, short stroke and large-bore products.
Raw materials flow from the warehouse through manufacturing into
assembly, test, paint and ship. Pistons, heads and other components
are manufactured in cells and delivered to the assembly area for
final assembly.

PRIMARY
PRODUCTS: The chrome operating unit produces chromium plated
solid bar or tubular product. The product can be supplied in various
lengths between 12' and 28'. Diameters range from 3/8" to 8". Chrome
thickness is also variable. The facility has the ability to induction
harden material up to 6" in diameter.
MANUFACTURING
PHILOSOPHY: The chrome facility is currently undergoing a redesign
to incorporate improvements in grinding technology and product flow.
Scheduled for completion in first quarter of 2003 the process will
flow from raw material staging to final product shipping. The end
result will be significantly reduced handling and improved quality
of product.

Foundry

PRIMARY
PRODUCTS: The foundry produces alloy steel castings ranging
from ½ pound to 1000 pounds in weight. The foundry produces low
to medium volumes with no minimum quantity requirements. The foundry
has heat treatment and machining capabilities as well as a full-line
pattern shop.
MANUFACTURING
PHILOSOPHY: The foundry has 12 one-ton induction furnaces capable
of producing 480 tons per month. We use a pep set, chemically bonded
sand for our molds, which eliminate the need to bake molds. We have
the capability to test hardness as well as perform spectrographic,
ultrasound and liquid penetrant testing.
